• RIM Welcomes New Employees

    We are pleased to welcome Marko Harbar and Kimberly Sims to the RIM team. Marko graduated from Michigan State University and brings a background in operations management including shop operations, production engineering, purchasing, and shipping/receiving/logistics. Marko joins us in the role of Purchasing Agent. Kimberly is stepping into the role of Traffic Coordinator with a background in logistics and transportation management. Kimberly is pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Davenport University. Marko and Kimberly will be great additions to the RIM team.

  • Truth, Honesty, Integrity: 11/16/2005

    It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Schorer, Founder and President of Repair Industries of Michigan, Inc. Howard will be greatly missed by all at RIM. We will continue the standard of excellence and honesty Howard set when he founded RIM in 1978.

  • Quality System Re-Certified

    On April 20th and 21st 2005, Repair Industries successfully completed the 3rd quality system surveillance audit of our second 3-year term of registration for QS-9000:1998, based on and including ISO 9002:1994. Our scope of registration remains the same: fabrication, modification, and repair of racks and containers for automotive and related industries.

  • Renovation Underway for New Design and Development Center

    17341 Sherwood, which everyone refers to as the ‘Bailey Building,’ will become the new home for our Design and Development Center. The 8,000 square foot facility will have office space for up to seven designers, conference area with video projector, and seating for customer use.

    The shop area will be dedicated to reviewing prototype racks. Minor modification can be made during a review, such as relocating a pocket or swapping out dunnage. Standard and non-standard dunnage will be on-hand in a wide variety of shapes and spacings.

  • EDI Software to Bridge the Gap

    RIM has rolled out an EDI solution to provide an e-commerce bridge between our trading partners and our business software, Microsoft Navision. The EDI solution allows automated electronic exchange of information including orders, shipment notifications, and invoicing.

    Benefits include a 45% reduction in manual business process transactions and creation of shipping notification and invoicing workflow.

    Over the past two months, Repair Industries of Michigan has added 2 new supervisors and 16 new production employees to support increased demand. We are excited about this capacity and revenue growth and are on track for a third consecutive year of double-digit growth.

    We are pleased to welcome Betty Mills and Shannon Gibbons to the RIM team. Betty has a strong background in administration and accounts payable; she joins us in the role of Traffic Administrator. Shannon is stepping into the role of Human Resources and brings 8 years of experience in Employee Relations and Recruiting. Betty and Shannon will be great additions to the RIM team.

    This year, Repair Industries of Michigan, Inc. celebrates 25 years of continuous business operations serving the automotive industry. Founded in 1978, Repair Industries of Michigan, Inc. has grown from a small rack repair source to a major fabricator and full service provider in the automotive and related material handling industry.
